T1N Sprinter Lubrication

Lubricating grease is rated for quality and usage by the NLGI. All approved products bear the NLGI symbol (Fig. 1). Wheel bearing grease uses "G", chassis grease "L". Higher quality grades follow.

Axle Fluid

Use oils approved to MB 235.0/235.6, e.g. Shell Spirax MB90, Caltex Hypoid LD, MOPAR 4874469. API GL‑5/MIL‑2105‑E SAE 90 hypoid oil may substitute.

Reduced axle durability with unapproved products.

Brake Fluid

Use MB 331.0 approved fluid (Intac B026D, MOPAR 04549625AC) or DOT 4: ERBP 500°F, WERBP 356°F, viscosity ≤1500 mm²/s.

HOAT Coolant

Use MB 325.0 approved HOAT coolant mixed 50/50 with distilled water.

Ethylene glycol is harmful; handle and dispose properly.

Propylene glycol coolants not recommended.

Engine Oil

API/MB specs 228.3/228.5/229.3/229.5: e.g. MOPAR SAE 15W‑40, Motul 8100 0W‑40.

Do not use supplemental oil additives.
